TIMOTHY MURAYA KARIUKI
Timothy Muraya Kariuki is a distinguished Rotary Peace Fellow and the Chief Trainer at the Center for Training, Research and Development Initiatives (CETRADIN International) located in Nyeri, Kenya. With an extensive career spanning over 30 years, he has established himself as a skilled teacher, trainer, curriculum developer, and human rights monitor.
Initially starting as a professional teacher, Timothy exhibits versatility as both a Team Leader and a Team Member, passionately delivering training services to diverse stakeholders across various nations, cultures, creeds, and sectors.
His client-centered approach, grounded in human rights principles, ensures that participants are transformed and achieve targeted results.
Timothy’s deep knowledge of historical events, many of which he has personally experienced, has earned him a reputation as a trusted trainer among his peers and trainees. He employs participatory teaching methods, utilizing illustrations to enhance comprehension and engagement during his training sessions.
His expertise extends to the development of innovative curriculums and training manuals, which align with the objectives of numerous organizations he has collaborated with, including educational institutions, university projects, and international bodies such as the United Nations Mission in Sudan, GIZ, EU, AU, UNDP, the Electoral Reform International Services, Democracy Trust Fund, and Chapter IV Institute.
Timothy is dedicated to instilling skills, knowledge, and transformative attitudes in his trainees, which motivates his curriculum development and training initiatives. His areas of expertise encompass human rights monitoring, peace building, leadership, corporate governance, good governance, conflict management, disaster management, gender and elections, constitutionalism, civic and voter education, elections management and observation, project management, and capacity building for civil service, civil society, and political parties.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Timothy actively volunteers in community mentoring, focusing on human rights, conflict prevention, mediation, and combating climate change.
