AMOS WEMANYA

Amos is a passionate researcher, advocate, and strategist with over 10 years of experience in human rights, climate justice, and renewable energy transitions. He currently leads the Climate and Just Energy Transition aspects of Power Shift Africa’s research, advocacy, and communications. In this role, Amos oversees strategic initiatives that advance climate justice and ensure equitable access to clean energy across Africa.

Prior to joining Power Shift Africa, he championed environmental justice at Greenpeace Africa by advocating for policies that protect natural resources for all. He has also served on the board of Sustainable Development For All-Kenya, where he championed low-carbon energy solutions for off-grid communities and empowered civil society participation in energy transition processes.

The expert is extends beyond Africa. He has successfully managed projects across the continent and collaborated with diverse stakeholders in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America. He holds a Master of Science in Environmental Change and Management (University of Oxford) and Climate Change and International Development (University of East Anglia), and has published research on community engagement in climate justice initiatives.
